Because GYST never holds the money, it cannot refund you, cannot freeze a payment, and cannot step into a disagreement between a buyer and a seller. There is no escrow and no buyer protection scheme behind a SwapMeet listing.
Treat a meetup the way you would treat any local classifieds sale: meet somewhere public, look at the item before you hand anything over, and walk away if it is not what the listing described. The app suggests public meeting places, but the judgement is yours.
